The Stevenson Public Library is gearing up for a busy October, one that challenges readers to a scary good time. The 4-Book Halloween Reading Challange encourages library patrons to finish one book from each of the following categories by the end of the month:
Book 1: Mystery or Thriller
Book 2: A Halloween Romance
Book 3: A book with eyes on the cover
Book 4: A book turned into a movie Visit the library, peruse their shelves for books that fit the descriptions, and keep documentation of your reads. Next week, patrons are encouraged to participate in the Pumpkin Decorating Contest, where they can turn a pumpkin into their favorite book character and display their creativity to the community. To participate, bring the decorated pumpkins into the library for display October 7-18. Use paint or non-perishable items to decorate the pumpkins. Prizes will be awarded to winners.
