By Kelsey Prose On Friday night, Dominik Blair stole the show in Section’s 24-14 victory over Class 4A Hanceville. Blair played wide receiver, defensive back, and kicker and scored all 24 points for the Lions, including the last field goal that sealed the game. Blair’s first touchdown came after a fumble recovery that he returned for a 30-yard touchdown and added the extra point to give the Lions a 7-0 lead. On Hanceville’s second drive of the game, Blair jumped in front of a receiver and intercepted a pass. Section quarterback Jacob Cooper found Blair for a 33-yard touchdown pass to give Blair his second touchdown of the night and the 14-0 lead. In a fourth-down situation, Section’s Cooper heaved a long ball to Blair, who came down with the pass and scored a 29-yard touchdown to make it his third of the game. The Lions took a 21-6 lead at the break. Hanceville scored in the beginning of the second half, but the Lions’ defense held the Bulldogs later on fourth down to keep them out of the endzone again. The Lions’ Cameron Summerford broke away for a 29-yard run to start the game’s final drive. Blair capped off his night of scoring by booting the ball in the final field goal to make it a two-possession game. Blair earned 62 receiving yards, 13 rushing yards, a pass for 11 yards on top of an interception, a fumble recovery for a touchdown, and a field goal. Section ends their season on Thursday night, October 28, against Woodville (0-9, 0-6) and looks to earn their 200th all-time win and first winning season since 2013.
