On June 13, 2019, the Stevenson City Council met. After the meeting was called to order, and a prayer was offered, the council reviewed and approved the minutes from the last meeting. They then took the following actions:
• Amended the city’s existing Ordinance on alcohol sales to match the wording of the state’s Ordinance requiring businesses seeking a license to sell alcohol be in a building at least 1000 square feet
• Approved Resolution 2019-07 declaring 60 MSA Air Packs and other equipment as Surplus
• Discussed the police car policy to decide on the procedure for allowing officers to drive vehicles home
• Council agreed to meet for a work session to discuss a city clean-up Ordinance concerning the cars in the area
• Agreed to paint storefronts for businesses who provide them with paint
Mayor Steele reported on Depot Days stating that the event was successful but was hampered a little by the rain. He reported that the golf tournament raised $15,000.00 and the city spent approximately $6,000.00 to host the tournament. He also stated that the city is preparing the dump trucks to carry dirt to the park for the RVs. The next meeting will be June 27, 2019, at 6:00 pm.
