Jackson County Solid Waste will host a fall community clean-up event in four locations throughout the county. Each location will be open on the below date from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
September 14 – Fackler (in front of the fire department)
September 21 – Skyline (Town Hall)
September 28 – Crow Mountain (Fire Department)
October 5 – Hollywood (old truck stop) Large items such as appliances, furniture, scrap metal, etc. are accepted at each community clean-up location, but no paint, batteries, mattresses, or household trash will be accepted. Jackson County residents can also drop off up to 8 tires for recycling at the above-designated locations or tires can be dropped off at the Jackson County Solid Waste office from Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tires must be removed from rims, free of dirt, mud, gravel, and debris. A driver’s license will be required to prove Jackson County residency. No tires from commercial vendors will be accepted. Funding for the Tire Recycling Program is provided by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. For questions about the clean-up schedule, call the Solid Waste office at 256-259-2820. Jackson County Solid Waste also offers a Roll Off Dumpster Rental Service with the following options:
20-yard roll off open-top dumpster at $475 for 14 days
30-yard roll off open-top dumpster at $525 for 14 days
40-yard roll off open-top dumpster at $600 for 14 days
