Section got
the shutout over Asbury Friday night in a dominating region performance. Jace Holcomb struck first for the Lions with
a 5-yard touchdown run. Leo Vilijanen
kicked the first of his five PATs on the night and Section went up 7-0. Drake McCutchen followed up with a 39-yard
scoring run to give the Lions a 14-0 lead at the end of one period. McCutchen added a 1-yard touchdown dive late
in the second quarter to send Section to the locker room with a 21-0 halftime
lead. The Lions opened the third quarter
with a scoring drive fueled by big runs from McCutchen and Holcomb, who capped
the drive with a 10-yard touchdown run.
Cameron Summerford got in on the action six minutes later with 10-yard
scoring run of his own to put Section up 35-0.
The final period saw the Lions control the ball the entire quarter due
to a 10-minute running clock, and Section got the shutout over Asbury. The Lions offense posted 355 yards, 340 of
that on the ground. McCutchen racked up
129 yards and two scores, while Holcomb ran for 99 yards and two
touchdowns. J.R. Walker rushed for 62
yards and Summerford had 60 yards and a touchdown.
