Pisgah overpowered the Section Lions Friday night. The game was delayed by lightning but it didn’t slow the Eagles. Pisgah jumped out front on a 4-yard scoring run by Rhyan Barrett once the weather relented. The Eagles went for two and got it to take an 8-0 lead. After a missed field goal attempt by the Lions, Pisgah mounted an 80-yard drive that took just five plays. The drive ended with a 58-yard scoring run by Nate Cornelison to put the Eagles up 14-0. Ridge Medlock put the Eagles back in business with an interception. Parker Law followed up by connecting with Jared Wilks for a 33-yard scoring strike. Law called his own number minutes later to extend the lead and then hit Wilks again for a 55-yard touchdown strike. Law completed passes to Wilks and Cameron Free for 2-point conversions to give the Pisgah Eagles a commanding 36-0 halftime lead. Pisgah capped their scoring in the third quarter with a 14-play, 89-yard drive which ended with a 1-yard touchdown run by Free. Free also got in for the 2-point conversion to go up 44-0. Section avoided the shutout with a 7-yard scoring run by Jr. Walker. Leo Viljanen’s PAT was good, but in the end, Pisgah overpowered the Section Lions 44-7.
