Story By Cinthia Rico Pisgah begins the 2022 season among the top in its classification in the annual preseason rankings. The Eagles posted at No. 9 in Class 2A in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association High School Football Preseason Poll, released Sunday. Pisgah was the lone Jackson County team to crack the preseason top 10, and the only team to receive top-10 votes. Last season the Eagles captured the Region 7 title and the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A playoffs. It was their first region championship since 2003. Pisgah closed its 2021 season with a 7-4 overall record, a 5-1 Class 2A, Region 7 record, and a postseason appearance in the opening round of playoffs, where they fell to Sulligent 52-38. Kicking off the 2022 season, the Eagles travel to Lexington on Friday, Aug. 26, then make their way to Sand Rock on Friday, Sept. 2.
