Story By Cinthia Rico North Jackson and Pisgah met for the first time last Friday night at R.D. Hicks Stadium in Stevenson for a thrilling matchup. No. 9-ranked Eagles claimed a 31-30 win over the Chiefs following an incredible show of athleticism from both teams. Pisgah opened up scoring early in the first quarter with Mason Holcomb hitting Luke Gilbert on an 11-yard touchdown. North Jackson kickstarted the second quarter behind a Diego Holt 15-yard touchdown run. The Eagles capitalized on a Chief fumble and took a 12-6 lead. Nick Jernigan rushed for more than a 60-yards scoring run and started the scoring in the second half. Caderius Ringer added a 2-point conversion giving North Jackson a 14-12 advantage. The two traded touchdowns, bringing up the scoring to 24-14 before Wil Sims added a 32-yard touchdown run, and Ringer completed a successful 2-point conversion, lifting North Jackson just two points away from a tie at 24-22. Following a Gilbert 61-yard scoring run, Dalton Johnson booted a point-after to give Pisgah a 31-22 lead. North Jackson rallied with a 48-yard touchdown and a Ringer 2-point conversion, making it 31-30. North Jackson capped its 2022 season with Jernigan leading the Chiefs with 98 yards rushing and a scoring run on 13 attempts, while also throwing for 77 yards. Hold had 72 yards and a touchdown. With the win, Pisgah closed out its regular season with an 8-2 overall and 6-1 region record. The Eagles host Hatton today in a first-round playoff matchup.
