Martha Ellene Knight Castle, age 93 of Bryant, passed away
Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at her residence. Funeral services were held on
Saturday, August 31, 2019, at 3:00 PM from Browns Chapel Holiness Church with
Brother Larry Walker and Brother Bradley Wooten officiating. Burial will
follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

funeral service. Mr. Dunn was a veteran
of the United States Air Force.

Helen Sue Machen Prestwood, age 92, passed away Wednesday,
August 28, 2019. A graveside
service was held on Saturday August 31, 2019, at 2:00 PM from Cedar Hill Cemetery
in Scottsboro with Brother Bud Martenn officiating. During WWII Mrs. Prestwood worked at American
Lava Corp. sawing radio insulators for airplanes.

Friday, August 30, 2019. Funeral
services were held on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at 2:00 PM from the Scottsboro
Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rick Freeman and Reverend Wyatt Jones
officiating. Burial followed in Union Cemetery.

Clayton Peacock, age 71 of Scottsboro, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019, at
Southern Estates in Scottsboro. Funeral
services were held on Monday, September 2, 2019, at 10:00 AM from the Scottsboro
Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shandy Dill officiating. Burial followed in Pine Haven Memorial
Gardens. Mr. Peacock was a veteran
of the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He attained the rank of Sergeant, was awarded
a Bronze Star with valor and a Purple Heart.
Mr. Daren “Howard” Dodson
Daren “Howard” Dodson, age 81 of
Scottsboro, passed away Monday, August 26, 2019. A private memorial service will be held with
immediate friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations
be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
Howard Dodson was born January 15,
1938. He met Lois Culver at Mt. Nebo
Baptist Church and married her there on October 14, 1957. The couple spent sixty years together before her
death in 2017.
Mr. Dodson was preceded in death
by: Parents – Manuel Dodson and Rachel
Steele Dodson. Son – Michael
Dodson. Daughters – Jeanna Dodson
Mullican and Linda Dodson.
He is survived by: Daughter – Deborah Dodson Dunsmore. Grandchildren – Ashlee Dunsmore, Hope Adkins,
Josh Mullican, and James Dodson.
A native of Keith Springs, Tennessee, Howard was a beloved and hard-working husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, camping, cookouts, and spending time with his grandchildren.
