Mrs. Virginia Ruth Guess Millsap
Virginia Ruth Guess Millsap, age 80 of New Lenox, Illinois, (formerly of Winchester, Tennessee, and Stevenson, Alabama), passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 9, 2020, at 1:00 PM from the Grant Funeral Services Chapel in Estill Springs, Tennessee, with Brother Jack Hice officiating. Burial followed in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester, Tennessee.
Instead of flowers, memorials in Ruth’s name can be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Vitas Community Connection Hospice, 255 E. Fifth Street, Suite 1200, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
Ruth was born in Stevenson, AL, to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Elizabell Sutton Guess. She took pride in raising and caring for her family and serving the Lord.
Ruth was a born-again Christian who loved Jesus and showed that love in so many ways by helping others, preparing meals, and writing cards. She served faithfully on the kitchen team, meals on wheels, and Vacation Bible School when she was able. Ruth was a proud member of the Marble Plains Baptist Church in Winchester, Tennessee, and regularly attended Lighthouse Fellowship (Baptist) Church, Frankfort, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by Siblings – Linda Guess, Elizabeth (Guy) Matthews, JD (Dorothy) Guess, John Henry “Buster” (Reba) Guess, Nancy (Bob) Davis, and Stella (JT) Pryor. Brother-in Law – Kenneth McAfee. Stepmother – Mildred “Bill” Guess. Nephews – Theodore “Ted” Pryor, John David Guess, and Thomas “Tommy” Pryor.
Ruth was the loving wife of the late Bobby Dean Millsap, loving mother to Sandra D. (Robert F. Jr.) Flowers, and Dustin B. (Sandra L.) Millsap; cherished Mammam to Robert F. III (Katarzyna “Kasia”) Flowers and Victoria E. Flowers; Grannymam to Cody Dean and Noah A. Millsap; dearest sister to Charlsie McAfee and loved aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Mr.Bryant was a veteran of the United States military, and he served in the Pacific Theater of Operations during WWII. He was also a retired Alabama State Trooper with 30 years of service.
