According to reports a group of four seniors from North Sand Mountain (NSM) High School opted to do a very good thing. Of their own free will, NSM seniors Saige Brazelton, Kamryn Patterson, Briley Cornelison, and Jace Shankles, purchased backpacks for students in need at their school. However, they didn’t stop at their own school. The group traveled throughout the county to Flat Rook, Bryant, Rosalie, Pisgah, and even to DeKalb County’s Ider High School to distribute the backpacks they had purchased. North Jackson Press and its sister newspaper Mountain Valley News would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to these thoughtful seniors. We are proud of you for your kindness to others. The photo above and the following comments were taken from NSM Facebook page. • Alisha Early – “I was so happy to see them at Flat Rock yesterday! This is such a great group of teenagers! They decided to do this on their own, and I’m so proud of them!” • Pat Whatley Heineman – “That’s awesome! Setting a great example for others!” • Jerome N Kelly Shankles – “This made my day!
