GRANT – The Chiefs picked up their fourth regional win last week, continuing a remarkable end-of-season turnaround and securing the Class 4A, Region 8 No. 3-seed in the playoffs.
North Jackson delivered a strong offensive and defensive performance, eclipsing DAR 85-14, while Madison County upset St. John Paul II, clearing the path for the Chiefs.
Friday’s win leaves North Jackson with a 4-3 record in regional play. The Chiefs set a team record with 85 scored points against the Patriots.
North Jackson finished with 563 total yards, 432 rushing yards, and 131 passing yards. Nike Price Jr. led the Chiefs on the ground with a gain of 103 yards and two touchdowns, and Creed Richardson had 101 yards rushing and a scoring run.
On the air, Jonathan Linderman went 5 of 7 for 114 yards and two touchdowns for the Chiefs.
North Jackson got off to an energetic start, with Jacob Smith blocking a DAR field goal attempt and racing 85 yards for a touchdown, and Nick Price, Jr. scoring his first two rushing touchdowns.
The Chiefs took a 30-0 lead in the opening quarter with a 21-yard touchdown run by quarterback Jonathan Linderman after the Chiefs defense stopped a punt 60 yards away.
In the second quarter, the Chiefs maintained their offensive momentum as Linderman fired a screen pass to Tyler Brown, who ran it 22 yards for a touchdown.
Smith intercepted a pass, leading to Haven Massengil’s 28-yard rush, and Price, Jr. scored again with less than 5 minutes remaining in the half.
To wrap up the first-half scoring, Trevor Houston returned a 53-yard interception for a touchdown after Diego Holt completed another Linderman screen pass 65 yards into the end zone.
The second half saw scoring runs from Gary Little, Creed Richardson, and Ace Jones for the Chiefs en route to an 85-14 triumph.
This week, North Jackson (4-5, 4-3) travels to Pisgah (8-1, 6-1) to close out regular-season play at Sam Kenimer Stadium.
Week 8 Recap: Chiefs Collect Third Consecutive Win

STEVENSON – The Chiefs continue battling this season, securing their third consecutive regional win with a 38-20 triumph over Madison County last Friday at R.D. Hicks Stadium.
Nick Price Jr. led North Jackson with 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns; Diego Holt gained 104 yards and two touchdowns; and Jonathan Linderman added a touchdown and 72 yards as the Chiefs totaled 369 yards (327 of those rushing).
The Tigers kicked off scoring on a 6-yard run, but North Jackson answered with a Price Jr. 16-yard touchdown and a 2-point conversion to claim the lead.
Scoring in every quarter, the Chiefs held their own as they battled to maintain dominance. With a 14-7 halftime advantage, North Jackson added three more touchdowns and executed three two-point conversions, while its defense limited Madison County to two touchdowns.
Holt scored on a 4-yard run, Linderman on a 7-yard run, and Price Jr. on a 65-yard run.
Holt capped off the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run and a final 2-point conversion for a 38-20 victory.
North Jackson improved to 3-5 overall and 3-3 in Class 4A, Region 8, as it tied St. John Paul II for fourth place.
