Mayor Steele Offers Thanks
This complete list will be printed in the July 12th edition of the North Jackson Press
Mayor Steele offers thanks to the many groups and
individuals responsible for the success of DePot Days. His comments are written below.
“Now that we have closed the 2019 chapter of Stevenson Depot
Days, we can all take a deep breath, relax, and look back at how things
went. For the first time in many years,
we had rain on the weekend of Depot Days.
While the rain put a damper on some things, other things just kept
rolling as normal. The rain did away with the 90 + degree temps, which are
often part of Depot Days, and brought with it cooler, more comfortable
temperatures. Our crowds were down in
some areas, while in other areas, we had massive turnouts!
I want to take a minute and offer thanks first and foremost
to our city employees. Your city employees go above and beyond each year at
Depot Days. They work long hours making sure the city looks its best and that
things run as smoothly as possible.
Next, I would like to thank our sponsors, whom without, this
annual event that brings our city together as one and brings those that have
left back home, even if it is just for the day, would not be possible.
