North Jackson shutout Sylvania 16-0 last Tuesday as Cayden Wynne pitched a no-hitter.
Wynne struck out eight and walked three while giving up no hits or runs across four innings. Carson Smith doubled on three hits while driving in five runs, Nick Jernagin doubled on two hits with two RBIs and a run scored and Jonathan Linderman doubled and scored three runs.
North Jackson (4-3) plated five runs in the second inning, two runs in the fourth, and eight in the fifth as the Rams fell 2-1.
Sylvania’s Gavin Chamber surrendered six runs on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks in two innings of a five-inning loss.
The Chiefs finished with 13 hits, including multiple hits from Smith, CJ Gulley, and Blake Mathews. Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate leading North Jackson in hits.
NJ 12, Geraldine 0
Clark pitched a 12-0 shutout win against Geraldine last Saturday.
The Chiefs rallied in the third inning with eight runs from Burnett, Clark, Linderman, Eakin, Smith, and Jernagin. On the mount, Clark allowed three hits and zero runs while striking out four.

In game two, North Jackson swept the series with an 11-1 victory over Geraldine also on Saturday.
Four Chief players led North Jackson’s offensive efforts in the second inning as Burnett walked, Eakin added a single, Jernagin hit a single and Wynne had a double.
Linderman surrendered one run on two hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking one.
Fricks took the loss for the Bulldogs, allowing four runs on two hits over one inning, and striking out one.
Section 14, Crossville 3
Section defeated Crossville in a 14-3 loss last Tuesday.
Section’s Jacob Stringer hit a triple and a double with an RBI and a run scored. Noah Devaney sat six and walked two while surrendering no runs on three hits in three innings. With the win, the Lions improved to a 2-3 record.
Jesus Garcia doubled with an RBI and a run scored for Crossville, while Caleb Causey, Alexis Quintana, and Joseph Lopez each tallied a hit.
Crossville’s Causey allowed six runs on four hits with two strikeouts and walks in one inning.
NSM 16, Valley Head 1
North Sand Mountain bested Valley Head 16-1 last Tuesday.
Logan Shoemaker pitched a complete game for North Sand Mountain, retiring eight batters and walking none while giving up three hits for one run in five innings. Jackson Burgess hit a triple and a double on two hits with three RBIs and two runs scored. Jace Shankles doubled and plated a run, and Landon Keller had two RBIs and scored two runs. Shoemaker and Kolten Copper each had two runs scored and an RBI.
Valley Head’s Chase Thomas walked three and struck out one while allowing five runs in ⅓ of an inning for the Tigers (0-2).
Eian Bain, Noah Hulgan, and Aiden Logan each recorded a hit for the Tigers.
Scottsboro 12, Fort Payne 8
Fort Payne took a 12-8 loss against Top Cat rival Scottsboro last Tuesday.
Scottsboro’s Atkinson homered on his lone hit with two RBIs and two runs scored. Trent Wilson doubled on three hits and plated three runs with two RBIs, while Luke Dixon doubled on two hits with two RBIs and Trey Cooper doubled on three hits with two runs and an RBI. Carson Peppers gave up two hits for one run with one strikeout and no walks.
Luke Patton doubled and drove in four runs for Fort Payne. Brannon Oliver doubled on two hits with an RBI and a run scored. Blake Griggs had three runs, and Jake Barnes plated two runs. Ryker Shankles surrendered six runs on five hits, walking five and striking out two in two innings.
