Josh Harding will lead the students at North Jackson High School(NJHS) as he takes over the reins as principal after former principal, Rob Paradise, stepped down.
Harding, a 2003 graduate of NJHS, attended both Northeast Alabama Community College and Jacksonville State University. He earned a degree in education. His teaching career began at Earnest Pruett Center of Technology (EPCOT)located in Hollywood, Alabama. While teaching special education for seven years at the center, he also coached the men’s golf team at NJHS. After that period, Harding transferred to NJHS as a special education teacher and then served as assistant principal before moving to the position of principal.
Harding married Haley House who grew up in the Stevenson area, and they are parents of two beautiful children.
North Jackson Press contacted Harding about his new role and his goals for the future of the school. He commented, “ I am super excited about being the principal at NJHS. North Jackson is a special place for me, as this is where I graduated from in 2003. It is my goal to lead NJHS to success in everything we do, whether that be in the classroom, on the playing field, or more importantly, having our students college and career ready so that they can be better prepared for life after high school. We want the high school experience to be a great experience for our students here. We offer many different courses and pathways for everybody to choose, with the best teachers and staff around. Again, to say I’m excited or proud to be the principal here is an understatement. Go Chiefs!”
