STEVENSON– Scott Kirk, President and Chief Executive Officer at First Southern State Bank, announced the promotion of veteran bankers Stacey Crabtree, Jed Lockridge, Gail Moore, and Scott Nunley.
Stacey Crabtree has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Mrs. Crabtree began her career at First Southern State Bank in 1985 while attending college and worked as a Teller, Customer Service Representative, Loan Clerk, and Loan Assistant. For the past twenty years, Ms. Crabtree has served as Cashier and managed Human Resources benefits. Recently, she was appointed as the Secretary of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Crabtree said, “I am so grateful for my long career at First Southern State Bank. I cherish the friendships that I have made along the way.”
A graduate of Stevenson High School, Mrs. Crabtree holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Jacksonville State University. She is a graduate of the former Community Bankers Banking School, now Alabama Banking School, where her team earned the award for “Best Bank.” Mrs. Crabtree continued her education at Covington Theological Seminary, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Bible Ministry. “I credit my mother, Aileen Matthews, for always being encouraging and supportive in all of my education and activities.”
Mrs. Crabtree has served on the board of the leadership group Bankers To Leaders for the Alabama Bankers Association. She is also a past member of the Jackson County Highland Ambassadors.
A member of Roaches Cove Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Crabtree is the pianist and Sunday School Teacher and works in the Women’s Ministry. She is married to her husband of thirty-four years, Roger Crabtree, and they share two children, Dakoda (Candace) Crabtree and Bailey (Jim) Chisenall. Together, the Crabtrees enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren. In her spare time, Mrs. Crabtree can be found reading, journaling, walking, or simply enjoying the outdoors.
Jed Lockridge has been promoted to Senior Vice President / Loan Officer at the Centre office. Mr. Lockridge’s career began in 1999 as a Lender with Farmers & Merchants Bank, where he served until the merger with First Southern State Bank in 2008, when he was named Vice President / Loan Officer. Mr. Lockridge said, “I am thankful to be part of the team with First Southern State Bank, where we make local decisions to help better serve the specific needs of our customers. Everything is not always black and white when it comes to making common sense decisions on loans.”
Mr. Lockridge is a graduate of Auburn University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing. He furthered his education by earning a degree from the LSU School of Banking and completed the Tennessee Bankers Commercial Lending School at Vanderbilt University.
A native of Centre, Mr. Lockridge is a devoted family person, happily married to Leann Lockridge, with whom they share four children. He attends Fairview Community Church. Beyond his commitments at work, Mr. Lockridge dedicates his time to community service, notably by serving on the Board of Directors of both the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and WIOA. He is also currently the Chairman of East Alabama Works. In his spare time, Mr. Lockridge enjoys activities such as hunting, dog training, and traveling.
Gail Moore has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Mrs. Moore brings 36 years of banking experience to her position after most recently serving as Vice President / Loan Officer in Scottsboro. In addition, she coordinates the marketing and CRA efforts for the Bank. Mrs. Moore said, “I look forward to coming to work every day to help my customers reach their financial goals. It’s a blessing to work with our wonderful team of banking professionals who continue to lead the way in serving our local communities. I am very thankful for the opportunity to grow in my career at First Southern State Bank.”
Mrs. Moore earned an Associate of Science degree in Business from Northeast Alabama Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of North Alabama. She has also completed studies at the Alabama Banking School and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Moore has been active in a host of civic, charitable, and economic development organizations. She serves as Secretary of the Scottsboro Industrial Development Board, Past President and Paul Harris Fellow of the Scottsboro Rotary Club, and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees at the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School. She is a Board member of the Impact Learning Center and volunteers with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Jackson County. In addition, Mrs. Moore is the founder of Jackson County Youth Leadership, a past Chairperson of Leadership Jackson County, and an Advisory Board Member of Pisgah FFA. The Alabama Bankers Association also named her Outstanding Young Banker.
Mrs. Moore and her husband, Joe, are residents of Scottsboro. In her spare time, she enjoys wildlife photography and bass fishing on the Tennessee River, calligraphy, and reading.
Scott Nunley has been promoted to Senior Vice President. Mr. Nunley’s banking career began in 2007 in the Collections Department. Most recently, he has served as Vice President / Loan Officer at the Stevenson office and coordinates collections for the Bank. Mr. Nunley said, “I work for the Bank, not at the Bank. I love to help others and enjoy seeing our customers and our community grow and reach their goals. If we can assist in a small way, both the banker and the Bank have done their job, and we’ve all had a good day!”
A graduate of Stevenson High School, Mr. Nunley and his wife Christy have two adult children, Ryan and Riley. He has been active in school programs and community events and strongly supports shopping locally in Stevenson. Away from the office, Mr. Nunley enjoys spending time with his family and working with his cattle on his hobby farm.
