The Pisgah Eagles and Head Coach Luke Pruitt continue to amaze as they have turned an 0-3 start into one of the best seasons in more than a decade. With the Eagles’ 20-7 victory over Class 5A Douglas on Thursday, October 29, Pisgah rolled into their seventh straight win, which is their longest streak since winning seven straight in 2009.
Pisgah got on the board first when Mason Holcomb found Parker Law for a touchdown. Douglas answered with a touchdown and the 7-6 lead, but the Eagles pushed back in front 14-7 when Holcomb found Jake Hendricks on the final play of the half plus Holcomb’s two-point conversion pass to Law.
After the break, Douglas returned an interception to the Pisgah 10-yard line, but Hendricks forced the Douglas player to fumble, and the Eagles recovered, keeping the Douglas Eagles out of the endzone. Pisgah sealed the win late in the fourth quarter when Fox Tinker’s 40-yard run set up a Parker Law 4-yard touchdown run with two minutes remaining in the game.
Pisgah prepares to host Region 5’s No. 4-seed Sulligent in the first round of the AHSAA Playoffs on Friday, November 5. This will be the first playoff game Pisgah has hosted since 2003.
