By Sherri Blevins JACKSON CO. – Every nine weeks, students in Jackson County and the Scottsboro City School System bring home individual report cards to show their progress. Now, the Alabama State Department of Education issues school-wide report cards in December of each year for each school. Dutton, North Sand Mountain, and Skyline earned an A on their report cards this year. According to the Alabama State Department of Education, the state considers academic achievement, academic growth, progress in English language proficiency, chronic absenteeism, graduation rate, and college and career readiness in calculating grades.
