The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its 2022 baseball All-State team on Sunday.
Among the Class 6A players is Scottsboros Waylon Farr.
The Wildcats closed out their season with a 16-11 record.
Class 6A state champ Hartselle was among the most recognized teams this year. Auburn signee Elliott Bray was named Pitcher and Player of the Year, while teammate and Alabama signee Coleman Mizell was Hitter of the Year. Bray and Mizell were two of five first-team selections for the Tigers.
The All-State team is compiled through submissions from coaches to sports writers in their area and voted on by the ASWA prep committee.
The organization’s top award, Mr. Baseball, and the Super 10 were scheduled to be announced at the annual ASWA banquet in Birmingham earlier this week.
