At the Jackson County Board of Education’s October meeting, personnel changes and contracts were approved as follows:
Retirements
- Edith Johnson – custodian at the Kevin Dukes Career and Innovation Academy – effective November 1
Resignations
- Ashley Wilks – teacher – North Sand Mountain High School – effective December 15
- Stephanie Lusk – teacher – North Jackson High School – effective December 31
- Billie Jo Burns – custodian – North Jackson High School – effective September 7
- Rickie Hutcheson – four hour custodian – Dutton School – effective October 5
- Amanda Lee – county wide instructional aide – effective October 16

The board approved contracts for North Sand Mountain High School, Hollywood Elementary School, and Bryant Elementary School to provide bus transportation assistant for a student at their respective schools.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 8:00 AM.
