City of Bridgeport Senior Bus
The City of Bridgeport offers transportation for those in need. The Senior Bus can provide transportation to the store, pharmacy, or doctor appointments. To schedule your ride, contact City Hall at 256-495-3892. This service is provided for free to the citizens of Bridgeport.
Bridgeport Downtown Flea Market
The Bridgeport Downtown Flea Market is set to begin on Saturday, April 10, at 7:00 am. This event is held on the first Saturday of each month. There will be a $5 donation taken from the vendors. This money goes to pay for refurbishing the caboose at the Depot. There will be all kinds of items, as well as food vendors. Musicians are also welcome to come and use the stage. Bridgeport is also encouraging residents to have their own yard sales on the day of this event. The street downtown will be closed from the library to the baseball field. Scottsboro Civitan Club Fern Sale
The Scottsboro Civitan Club is now holding its fern sale. There are three choices of ferns: Boston 10” hanging, Asparagus 10” hanging, and Sword 10” potted at $15 each. Proceeds go to benefit the Civitan Park Special Needs Playground and the Civitan International Research Center. The deadline for orders and payment is Thursday, April 8. See any Club member to purchase.
Domestic Violence Support Group
There will be a domestic violence support group that will meet monthly at the Stevenson Park Building on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. The first meeting will be on April 13.
Spay Neuter Jackson County Yard Sale
Spay Neuter Jackson County will hold their annual benefit yard sale on Saturday, April 17, at Akins Furniture in Scottsboro. They are accepting donations until Friday, April 9.

Tax Lien Auction
Jackson County Revenue Commissioner Jeff Arnold will
conduct the 2021 tax lien auction on April 27. The auction will be held online
and will begin at 10:00 am on www.govease.com
Tax Deadline Extension
On March 17, the Treasury Department and the IRS issued
IR-2021-59, which provides an automatic extension of the filing and payment
date for individual 2020 income tax returns from April 15, 2021, to May 17,
2021.
Volunteers Needed
Highland Medical Center and Nursing Home is looking for volunteers.

Heartlite Hospice Care needs volunteers. These volunteer positions include performing administrative duties in the office, sitting with patients, or accompanying staff to events. If interested, please call Cheyenne Bennett at 256-259-1754.
ABC Hospice needs volunteers. These positions include visiting patients, sitting, and light housekeeping. For more information, call 256-302-2660. High school students are also welcome.
