State and County
Business License Due
Jackson County Probate Judge Victor Manning reminds all
business owners that State and County Privilege Licenses are due and payable
during the month of October. Penalty and interest will be added
after October 31, 2019.
Thursday, October 31st is
the last day to revnew business and privilege licenses without accruing penalty
and interest. All renewals must be
postmarked by 10-31-2019 in order to avoid penalty and interest!
Privilege Licenses can be renewed by mail, online at www.renewyourtag.com or
at the Probate Office in the Jackson County Courthouse. Office hours
are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Bridgeport Insane Asylum
The City of Bridgeport
has a haunted house, the Bridgeport Insane Asylum, set up in the old jail
downtown. It is open Fridays and
Saturdays until Halloween, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
South Pittsburg
Church of God
South Pittsburg Church of God located at 921 South Cedar Avenue in South Pittsburg, Tennessee,
will host a Special Women’s Ministry Service on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at
10:30 am with Chris and Joy Allen. Lunch
will be served after the service. All
ladies are welcome to attend.
Bridgeport Halloween
Festivities
On October 31, 2019, the City
of Bridgeport
will host a Halloween Parade, starting at 5:00 pm with line-up at 4:45. The
parade will begin at the fountain downtown and will end in front of the stage.
Everyone is invited, including all schools. Floats and golf carts are welcomed.
Trunk or Treat will begin at 5:30 downtown. Come out and enjoy the music and
fun festivities, including a costume contest. We encourage everyone
participating in Trunk or Treat to decorate their cars. The Haunted Asylum will
be open from 5:00 – 10:00 pm on Halloween, and it will also be open on October
18,19, 25, and 26. The admission to the Haunted Asylum is free.
South Pittsburg
Church of God
South Pittsburg Church of God located at 921 South Cedar Avenue in South Pittsburg, Tennessee,
will host a Fall Festival on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00
pm. Come join us for FREE food, games,
and candy.
Mountain View Christian
Academy
Mountain View Christian
Academy will hold a
Harvest Festival on Saturday, November 2.
Games will be from 11:00 to 1:00 pm, with the auction beginning at 2:00
pm EST. there will be fun for all ages.
Highlands Fall
Festival
Highlands Medical Center will host a FALL Festival on Friday, November 8, from 8:00, am to
11:00 am. You will learn about ways to
prevent falls when you are at home and out in the community. Activities will include a craft show, bingo,
cake walk, Medicare Q&A, fall prevention activities, health fair, flu
shots, snacks, and giveaways. The Circle
Dulcimer Group will provide entertainment.
Bryant Ruritan Club
The Bryant
Ruritan Club will host a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, November 9, from 4:00 pm
to 6:00 pm. Plates will be $6 each. Veterans eat free. Meals include spaghetti, salad, toast,
dessert, and tea. Carry-outs will be
available.
Guitar Lessons
Stevenson Public Library will
host guitar lessons by Jonathan Olaphant on Wednesdays at 3:30 pm. Lessons will be $10 per person. You can pre-register at the library. All ages are welcome.
6th Annual Mistletoe Market
The Scottsboro Woman’s League
is proud to announce that the 6th Annual Mistletoe Market will be
held Friday, November 22 – Sunday, November 24, 2019. Opening and closing times to be announced
later. Mistletoe Market is an upscale
Christmas Market held at Goose
Pond Civic
Center with 30 vendors
from all across the Southeast. Last year
the market welcomed over 1,000 visitors!

Back To The Redback
Calling all singers,
musicians, and everyday folks that enjoy getting together and singing songs
from the “Redback Hymnal.” Back to the Redback Community Connect Group meets
each Thursday at 6:00 pm at Broadway’s Faith Chapel located across from Hardees
in Rainsville, Alabama. Don’t miss out on the opportunity
to fellowship with friends, enjoy good music, and sing praises to God.
Library’s Toddler Story Time
The Lena Cagle Public Library
located in Bridgeport
will hold Toddler Story Time, the 3rd Tuesday of every month, beginning at
10:00 am.
Dance Every Saturday Night!
Dance away your Saturday
nights from, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, at the Veterans Post Home in Scottsboro. Donations go to assist in missions and
programs for veterans, their families, and the community. The event is sponsored by American Legion
Auxiliary Unit 30. It will be an alcohol
and smoke-free environment. All new-comers are welcome.
