North Jackson traveled to Sylvania last Thursday night for a non-region play.
The Chiefs fell to the Rams 57-41, battling until the end and accumulating 14 points in the second half.
Sylvania’s Josh Scott kicked off the scoring with a layup, leading three Sylvania boys in double-digit scoring. Griffin Haygood, Roman Mckeehan, and Jonah Gurley all contributed shots.
Gavin Chambers closed out first-half scoring as North Jackson trailed by five, posting a 28-23 score at halftime.
The Chiefs Nick Jernigan kickstarted the second half, netting a 3-point shot. Sylvania’s Scott answered with a 3-pointer of his own, making the score 33-26.
North Jackson rallied to trail by nine before the Rams pulled away with a 56-37 score by the end of the third quarter.
Jayden Eakin paced the Chiefs (1-3) with 15 points, and Nick Jernigan added 10 points.
Scott netted four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 20 points to help the Rams defeat North Jackson. Chambers scored 14 points, and Logan Wilks added 10 points for the Rams (1-2).
Pisgah 63, Ider 32
Mason Holcomb and Levi Arnold led Pisgah (2-0) to a 63-32 beat down over Ider, with nine points each last Friday night.
The Eagles collected 21 points in the opening quarter, capturing an early lead, and building on it as the game progressed.
Legion McCrary and Luke Gilbert added eight points apiece, Jakob Kirby tallied seven, while Brodie Overdear, Jack Smalley, and Caleb Jenkins all added six points. Levin Horton chipped in three and Cape Duncan had one for the Eagles.
Griffin Weldon led Ider (1-4) with 13 points and Cole Shirley added seven.
Skyline 97,
Valley Head 65
Skyline (5-1) eclipsed Valley Head 97-65 last Friday, building a 59-30 halftime lead.
Will Avans scored 23 points leading four other players in double digits scoring. Bryant Kennamer had 18 points, Scott York added 14, Chase Bicker pitched in 12 and Jayten Prince had 10.
Sam Utter scored seven, Dillon Stephens had six points, and Dakota Fuhrman added four points.
Hunter Robinson led Valley Head (2-2) with 18 points, Eian Bain added 14, Kolby Dupree 13, and Nate Bain 10 points.
Scottsboro 76,
Fort Payne 68
Parker Bell scored 21 points, including five 3-point shots leading Scottsboro (5-1) to a 76-68 victory over Fort Payne last Friday night.
Tyson Sexton and Ethan Roberts tallied 16 points apiece, and Seth Whitmire added 10 points. Scottsboro led 29-25 at the half and continued to edge Fort Payne (3-5) en route to victory.
Luke Stephens led Fort Payne with a game-high 32 points, and Nolan Fowler added 12 points.
NSM 87, Section 68
Landon Keller scored a game-high 22 points as North Sand Mountain topped Section 87-68 last Friday night in Higdon.
At the half, the score was tied at 32 before NSM (5-2) took the lead.
Chandler Sullivan had a double-double of 13 points and 19 rebounds for NSM, Nyle Poore added nine points and 10 rebounds, Andrew Palmer and Konner Brown scored nine apiece, and Brody Helton and Kaden Brown accounted for eight points each.
Kade Davis chipped in six and Brady Anderson added three.
Zach Cooley and Josh Varner led the Lions scoring 11 points each, and Dillan Pope and Kodee Vaught added eight apiece. Jr. Walker scored seven, Aaron Thomas and Koda Moore each chipped in five, while Jackson Cooper and Antonie Jonathan added a combined four points.
