Bum Pickins Week #2
Surprise, Surprise what a GREAT week uf football for week 1. The Bears uf Plainview got the big upset uf the week with a thrilling overtime win over North Jackson 36-35. It wasn’t too thrillin for the Chiefs though. The Fyffe Red Devils just picked up where they left off last year as they defeated a good Geraldine team 28-0. The Sylvania Rams was “RAM Tough” as they defeated Sardis 21-12. New Headman Miles Keith and the Ider Hornets got the win over Holly Pond 17-2. The Panthers uf Collinsville continue to celebrate 100 years uf Football with a 40-13 win over the Lions uf Crossville. The Top Cat Trophy is purring back in Fort uf Payne after the FP Cats rolled over Scottsboro 42-7. The Eagles uf Pisgah thumped the Panthers uf Woodville 47-21. Head uf the Valley got the win over Alabama School uf the Deaf 45-8. New Hope was on the war path defeating the Lions uf Section 27-0. North Sand Mountain squeaked by Dade County and Elder Pruitt 28-26. Cornerstone Christian came up just short as they lost to Conecuh Springs 26-30. Bama started slow but finished strong with a 42-3 win over Duke and The Auburn Tigers with Bo came from behind to get the victory over Oregon 27-21.
I struggled in the first week as I went 9-3. Don’t worry,
I’m just getting started. The Guru will be on track before the Rooster crows
three times!!! Ole Monk the Skunk went 10-2 but I ain’t worried about him, he
stinks! Sherri the Berry beat the Bum but that’ll be the only time. Bum beat
Bubba this week cause he went 7-5; Steele faired a little better at 8-4 , and
he tied Ole Man Rich; The Lawman Edmiston tied Steele and Rich with the same
8-2 record;Tricky Nick, Brother Larry and Sister Ginger all came in at 10-2.

We have some doosies this week. North Sand Mountain travels
to Collinsville and back in time 100 years. The Panthers may have the best
athlete in Kaleb Jones. North Sand Mountain may have the best passing QB in
Landon “Sunshine” Green. This will be the Slobber Knocker Game uf the Week. Bum
thinks it will be a close one as Collinsville continues to celebrate 100 years
uf football with a 24-21 win over North Sand Mountain. Fyffe travels over to
Section, won’t be much uf a game as Fyffe gets the win 45-14. Fort uf Payne
travels to Albertville! This might be a fun game to watch. Albertville put up
62 points on Columbia last week. The Cats and Shaddix are running over anybody
in their way. Bum looks for this to be a barn burner as the Cats take the win
27-24. Brindle Mtn. travels to Pisgah
to face the Eagles. It will be a long ride back across the mountain for Brindle
Mtn. as Pisgah wins 34-7. Head uf the Valley travels to Decatur Heritage. Head
uf the Valley is healthy and will play a good game. Decatur Heritage wins
17-14. Crossville travels to Etowah. Crossville travels home with a loss.
Etowah wins 31-14. Geraldine travels to Plainview for region play. Plainview is
coming off a big upset win. Geraldine is coming off a tough loss. In a close
game, Geraldine wins 24-17. Susan Moore travels to Sylvania. Sylvania had a big
win last week. Susan Moore beat J.B. Pennington 20-0. This should be a head
knocker uf a game. Bum says Ram Tough wins 21-14. North Jackson travels to
Danville. North Jackson lost a heartbreaker Friday night. Danville lost to
Brewer 37-8. Bum says North Jackson gets the first win for new coach, Tygard
31-21. Woodville travels to Falkville.
It will be a long ride home for the Panthers as Falkville wins 28-7.
Scottsboro had to give up the Topcat. They travel to Ardmore Friday Night. They
want give up a win this week. Scottsboro wins 31-14. LSU travels to Texas.
Texas feels good about their program. They won’t feel as good after LSU beats
Texas 28-17. Texas AM thinks this is the year for them. Clemson is the
defending NC. Texas AM may be a few years away, Clemson wins 24-14.
