Bum Pickins Week 10
Well, folks, week 10 is upon us. It’s the last
regular-season game. Where has time gone? Seems like yesterday I was planting
my garden dreaming of the start of football season! It is coming down to the
last couple of weeks to see who will be the Pigskin Pickem Champ? I am still in
the hunt. Don’t count out the ole Guru just yet!
Last week saw some good games and some muddy games if you played on Friday night! Collinsville traveled over to Cedar Bluff on Friday night. The rain did not slow them down, as they defeated Cedar Bluff 38-0. Fyffe traveled to Ider on Thursday night. The Red Devils got their 7th shut-out of the season with a 47-0 win. Fort Payne traveled to Cullman on Friday night and lost 42-23. Plainview traveled to Pisgah on Friday night. Pisgah won the Mud Bowl 12-8. North Sand Mountain traveled to Section and got a big win 49-7. Head of the Valley rambled past Coosa Christian 51-8 in the rains! Southside traveled to Crossville on Thursday night! On a dry field, Southside took the win 6-3!!! The Sylvania Rams traveled to Geraldine on Friday night. The rain did not affect the Bulldogs as they took the win 28-0 over the Rams. Sand Rock rolled over Asbury 44-0! Scottsboro ran past Brewer 35-0, and North Jackson beat Randolph 42-26! Decatur Heritage stayed unbeaten with a 39-14 win over Woodville! Bama rolled past Arkansas 38-7, and LSU won the battle of the Tigers 23-20! Michigan beat Notre Dame 45-14!
Now, on to this week. Plainview travels to Crossville.
Plainview all but was eliminated from the playoffs with the loss Friday night. Crossville
has struggled all year with a tough schedule! Bum thinks Crossville gets the
win 24-19! Sylvania travels to Fyffe.
Can Fyffe get their 8th shut-out of the season? Bum says, no! Fyffe
wins 47-10. Ider travels to Spring Garden to finish the season. It will be a
sad ending as Spring Garden wins 38-14. Geraldine travels to Piedmont Friday
for a test before the playoffs. Bum says he hopes nobody gets hurt for
Geraldine as Piedmont wins 31-17. Collinsville travels to Valley Head Friday
night. Both teams are at home for the 1st round of the playoffs.
Will they chance getting someone hurt or play backup? Bum thinks Collinsville
gets the win in a close one 24-18. Woodville travels to Section. Section has
their mind on basketball. Woodville wins 28-10. NSM travels to Pisgah for a big
rivalry game. NSM wins a big rivalry game 31-14! G.W. Carver travels up the interstate to Fort
Payne. Fort Payne is coming off a tough loss.
Fort Payne gets the win this week over Carver 34-17. Scottsboro takes
care of Hartselle 31-14 Friday night, and Arab beats North Jackson 40-39! Florida does the Gator Chop with a win over
Georgia 28-21. Tennessee beats UAB 45-14, and Oregon wins over USC 31-21!
Mississippi beats Arkansas 31-14.
Well, this winds up the regular season. I will be back next
week for the first round of the playoffs. Save me a spot by the fence!! The
