Story and Photo by Cinthia Rico Class 2A top-ranked Red Devils moved to 2-0 after a dominating 49-0 victory against North Sand Mountain (0-3) last Friday night. Fyffe came out strong and their offense was on fire as they took on the Bisons (3-0) in a Class 2A, Region 7 opener at Paul Benefield Stadium. With only four minutes left in the first quarter, the Red Devils held a 21-0 lead over North Sand Mountain. Lawrence Blackwell intercepts a Bison pass for a first and 10 for the Red Devils. With four minutes remaining, Anderson rushed for a 52-yard run. Ryder Gipson followed with a 53-yard touchdown run for a 35-0 score with 2:03 left in the period. Fyffe capped the third quarter with a 20-yard touchdown from Bryce Totherow. Logan Anderson rushed for two touchdowns, finishing with 77 yards rushing on three attempts, and connected with Blake Dobbins for a 32-yard TD pass in the second quarter. Brodie Hicks added two rushing touchdowns and Yahir Balcazar went 6 for 6 on extra-point kick attempts. Fyffe tallied 355 yards of offense and 309 yards rushing, limiting NSM to 92 yards and 35 yards rushing. The Bisons look for a rebound as they travel to Ider (2-1) this Friday. The Red Devils travel to Whitesburg Christian Academy on Friday for their second region contest at Madison County Elementary School.
