As we continue with the same subject I want to introduce additional scripture from Proverbs 6:20-26 “20 My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:
21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. 22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. 23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: 24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. 25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. 26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life.”
Christian parents, who raise their children by the word of God, will advise their sons and their daughters to flee fornication and not commit adultery. Some would argue that the law of God is outdated and that God does not intend for modern-day males and females to remain pure. To this I reply, “Wrong!” Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 “8 I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I. 9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.” This is not speaking of the eternal burning in hell, but that it is better to marry than to burn with lust and commit the sin or fornication.
I am not against women. My mother, my wife, and my daughter are all women. If God will permit I will write articles in the future about how men should behave toward their spouses and what their godly duties are.
You’ve likely heard “beauty is skin-deep, but ugly goes to the bone”. I say unto you, true beauty and true ugliness comes from within the individual. A believer that lives like a believer should is looked upon as beautiful in the eyes of God, and believe it or not, in the eyes of mankind. Likewise, one can be the most physically attractive person on the planet yet be ugly because of the evil of your heart.
This subject is unpopular in today’s society. It is considered old fashioned and a form of judging. However, if we are given the word of God, and can look at it, study it, and determine that what it says is true, even in our own lives, then it is not judgment from the deliverer of the word; rather we are all judged by the word of God.
This world is being destroyed by lust. God does not condone lust. He is about another four letter word that begins with the letter “L” – “LOVE”. If we, as individuals, persist in our lust then God will in turn judge and execute punishment upon us for our lust.
In closing Proverbs 13:1 says “13 A wise son heareth his father’s instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.” This simply tells us that a wise person will follow the teachings handed down to us in God’s Holy Word.
