According to our news partner WAFF-TV news channel 48, Alabama anglers be advised that some mercury-contaminated catfish have been reportedly take from the Tennessee River.  If you angle for catfish from the Alabama side of the Tennessee River, there is an advisory that you need to be aware of.  The mercury-contaminated fish were brought out of a portion of the Tennessee River that is located in Tennessee.  However Alabama state toxicologists said fisherman in Alabama also need to be aware of the contamination.  At press time, information of the source of the contamination had not been released, but as more information becomes available we will keep you updated.  Until then, Alabama anglers be advised that there could be toxic fish in the waters of the Tennessee River, whether in Alabama or Tennessee.  Alabama Anglers be advised.
