The Vikings came prepared to battle as they defeated Winterboro 60-43 in the Class 1A Boys Northeast Regional Semi-finals at Pete Mathews Coliseum.
Jayten Prince led the Vikings with 17 points, including nine rebounds. Dillon Stephens added 12 points, including nine rebounds, Chase Bickers had nine points, Bryant Kennamer finished with eight points, Will Avans and Scott York each added six points, and Landon Rousseau chipped in two points.
Tied at 9 in the opening quarter, the Skyline’s Prince scored 11 points and Dillon Stephens six points in the first half en route to a 30-20 halftime lead.
Maintaining their drive and defensive efforts, the Vikings added 14 points in the third quarter while limiting Winterboro to eight.
The 44 three-quarter advantage helped Skyline hold off the Bulldogs fourth quarter rally en route to a 60-43 victory.
The Vikings finished with 38 rebounds, 31 defensive, and seven offensive to Winterboro’s 36 rebounds.

The Lady Vikings overpowered Jefferson Christian Academy with a commanding 73-18 victory at the Class 1A Girls Northeast Regional Semi-Finals at Jacksonville State University on Monday.
Blakely Stucky led Skyline with 17 points, Kaina King added 16 points, Kenzie Manning netted 15 points, Brinlee Potts and Lexie Stucky tallied six points each, Sage Lewis finished with four points, Bella Avans had two points, and Audra Bellomy chipped in one point.
The Lady Vikings brought their A-game early on, building a 23-11 opening quarter lead against the Eagles. Continuing their efforts, Skyline posted 22 points in the second frame, while their defense limited Jefferson Christian to six points.
At the half, Skyline held a 28-point advantage, later extended by 19 points in the third en route to a dominating 73-23 win.
The Vikings tallied 45 total rebounds, 25 offensive, and 20 defensive against the Eagles.
