North Sand Mountain hit the court with tremendous force, topping Collinsville 74-41 last Saturday in Higdon.
Chandler Sullivan led the Bison with a game-high 23 points. Konner Brown added 15 points, including three 3-pointers, Landon Keller tallied eight points, Christian Davis had seven, Nyle Poore finished with five points, Andrew Palmer and Jack Johnson each added four, and Kaden Brown, Brady Anderson and Brody Helton each chipped in two points.
The Bison put together a 42-21 first-half advantage behind a strong rebound effort to take the win.
NSM’s Keller and Brown netted three 3s in the opening quarter to lift the Bison 19-13 over the Panthers.
The Bison continued building before putting the game out of reach in the third quarter while adding 28 more points.
Colton Wills paced the Panthers with 16 points, Keaton DeBoard added 10 points, Mason McAteer had six, Eli Griggs finished with four points, Fernando Padilla had three, and Shaun Stewart chipped in two points for Collinsville.
Girls
Collinsville 72, NSM 65
The Collinsville girls’ basketball team completed a comeback, trailing by more than nine points at halftime, the Panthers rallied to end up claiming a 72-65 victory over North Sand Mountain last Saturday.
Kayden Reyes paced the Bison with a team-high 28 points, Kam Patterson added 16 points, including three 3s, Ashley Shrader and Kallie Bobo each finished with eight points, and Raygan Weldon and Madison Renfro each chipped in two points.
The teams entered into overtime, the ensuing possession saw Gracie Griggs go to the line for two free throws. Tatum and Sophia Wills netted some points to lift the Panthers over the Bison.
Tatum led the Panthers in with a game-high 32 points, including five 3-pointers. Griggs added 12 points, Abby Coleman collected 11 points, Rylee Tillery had nine points, Nayeli Mata finished with six points behind two 3s, and Susana Flamenco chipped in two points for Collinsville.
The Tigers scored a consistent 13 points for three of the four quarters and 12 in the third. However, the Vikings’ strong first half gave them a 48-26 advantage.
Bryant Kennamer and Jayten Prince led Skyline with 18 points each, with a combined five 3-pointers. Chase Bickers added 16 points, Will Avans tallied 12 points, Scott York contributed nine points, all 3s, Sam Utter had six points, and Caleb Rowell and Landon Rousseau each chipped in two points for the Vikings.
