Scottsboro v Arab
The Scottsboro Wildcats still hope to host the area tournament in February after their defeat of visiting Arab on Friday, December 10. The Wildcats improved to 2-1 in area play after leading the Knights 10-9, 22-15, and 26-22 at the quarter breaks and taking the final victory at 39-29. Adair Holland led the Cats with 11 points, and Audrey Holland scored 10 points. They also got nine points and seven rebounds from Lexie Bennett, with four points and 11 rebounds from Jadaya Edmondson.
Skyline v Woodville
Skyline downed the Woodville Panthers 69-30 and won their ninth straight game on Friday, December 10. Skyline (9-3, 3-0 Class 1A Area 13) came out quickly and led 18-6 after the first quarter, but by halftime, they had an impossible 40-13 lead. Blakely Stucky led the Vikings with 19 points while Gracie Rowell had 17, Kenzie Manning had 14, and Lexie Stucky had 11 points.
Section v Ider
Section took a hard loss to No. 8-ranked Ider on Friday, December 10, as the Hornets outscored the Lions 21-6 in the second quarter to give way to a 58-30 victory. Section (3-6, 1-2) trailed just 13-8 after the first quarter, but Ider quickly jumped their lead to 34-14 by halftime. Cara Holder scored 11 points for Section while Savannah White added six, and Ali Sullins netted five.
Pisgah v Geraldine
Pisgah downed Class 3A Geraldine on Monday, December 13, as the Eagles also posted their 55th straight home win at Carey Ellison Gymnasium. The Class 2A No. 1-ranked Eagles made 15 3-pointers on their way to an 80-46 victory. Molly Heard led three other Eagles in double-digit scoring with a game-high 23 points, while Paisley Patalas had 14 points, Lila Kate Wheeler had 11, and Karlee Holcomb scored 10 points.
Section v Westminster Christian
On Monday, December 13, Section defeated Class 4A Westminster Christian 47-31 after building a double-digit lead at halftime. Section (4-6) led 13-6 after the first quarter but pushed the deficit to 26-12 by halftime. Savannah White scored 16 points, and Madison Armstrong brought in 13 for the Lions.
North Sand Mountain v Ider
North Sand Mountain (5-4) dropped a Class 2A Area 15 matchup against the No. 8-ranked Ider Hornets 60-47 on Monday, December 13. NSM led 14-12 after one quarter, but the Hornets were in control by halftime 33-22. Kayden Reyes scored 12 points, and Madison Renfro added 10 for NSM.
