The game between Skyline and Pisgah was the battle of the defending state champions. It took extra time to determine the winner, but defending Class 1A AHSAA State Champion Skyline defeated defending Class 2A AHSAA State Champion Pisgah 55-53 on Thursday night at Skyline High School.
Pisgah took a demanding 17-2 lead late in the first quarter, but the Vikings battled back and took a 23-22 halftime lead. Pisgah led 34-33 heading into the fourth quarter, but Skyline built a five-point lead halfway through the quarter. With the game tied at 47-all, Pisgah turned the ball over and sent the game into overtime.
