The Pisgah Eagles are looking for a tick to add to the win column, but that didn’t come as they opened region seven play on Friday night against No.9-ranked Falkville. Pisgah (0-3, 0-1) used a trick play to set up the early 8-0 lead after Mason Holcomb threw a touchdown pass to Parker Law for 24-yards. After that, it was all Falkville (3-1, 2-0) as they put up 21 unanswered points. Pisgah gained some momentum before the break on Legion McCrary’s 2-yard touchdown run plus the extra two to bring the Eagles within one score, 22-16. However, the Blue Devils scored twice before the Eagles could put together a scoring drive.
Pisgah’s Holcomb connected with Jake Hendricks for a 44-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to cut their deficit to 35-22, which would be the final result. Jakob Kirby had 112 yards on four receptions, while Law had 53 yards on six receptions and one touchdown and rushed for 10 yards. Holcomb went 12 for 21 with 194 yards and two touchdowns. McCrary rushed for 60 yards and one touchdown plus a 2-point conversion. The Eagles’ pitfall was suffering from three turnovers during the game. Pisgah hosts region foe Whitesburg Christian (1-2, 0-1) on Friday night for a Homecoming celebration.
