Chester Walls, age 85 of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 11:00 AM from the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Chad Holland officiating. Burial followed in Green Valley Cemetery. Mr. Walls was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in Korea, Germany, Alaska, and he completed three tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1973 after 20 years of service and had achieved the rank of Sergeant 1st class. He received a bronze star, air medal, Army commendation medal, and numerous other awards, citations, and ribbons.
