Fyffe defeated North Sand Mountain in Friday night to earn another Class 2A, Region 8 title. The Bison did what no team has done in the Red Devils last four outings, which was score. However, that feat was only accomplished after Fyffe rattled off nine unanswered touchdowns of their own. Zach Pyron got the ball rolling in the first quarter with two touchdowns on the ground and one through the air, a 53-yard strike to Brody Dalton. Dalton went 8-for-8 on PATs for the night, and the Red Devils led 21-0 at the end of one. Ike Rowell took over in the second quarter, adding touchdown runs of two and five yard. Pyron scored again late in the second from seven yards out to give Fyffe a 42-0 halftime advantage. Rowell struck again in the third quarter, opening the second half with an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Ninety seconds later, the defense got in on the action when Eli Benefield grabbed an interception and went 14 yards for a pick-six to increase Fyffe’s lead to 56-0. Brody Hicks capped the scoring for the Red Devils with a 5-yard touchdown scamper midway of the final period. Cade Bell avoided the shutout for the Bison, returning the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Landon Greene connected with Derek Bearden for a 38-yard score late, but it was academic at that point, and Fyffe defeated North Sand Mountain 62-14
