The Section Lions got shutout by the New Hope Indians Friday, August 30, in their home opener. Already leading 7-0, the Indians intercepted an wayward pass at the Lions’ 27-yard line which ultimately set up a 5-yard touchdown run to put New Hope up 14-0 in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Indians lead with a 68-yard touchdown pass, to extend the lead to 21-0 before the half. The Lions gave up one more rushing touchdown in the third quarter to get shutout by the Indians 27-0. New Hope posted 289 yards to 102 yards total offense with the biggest difference coming on the ground. The Indians rushed for 201 yards to the Lions’ 53. Turnovers were the biggest key, however. Section turned the ball over four times to New Hopes’ one. The Lions now have to regroup and turn their attention to the Fyffe Red Devils who they’ll host this Friday night.
