HOLLYWOOD – “Let’s Get Connected” Community Services Resource Fair was recently held at the Kevin Dukes Career & Innovation Academy. Approximately thirty agencies/vendors were represented. The community was invited to learn about services available that not everyone might be aware of. The Sleep In Heavenly Peace group, which provides beds to children 3-17, participated. TARCOG was present, sharing information about providing legal assistance to adults over 60 free of charge, including wills, living wills, and other services. Alabama Cares shared information on the Grandparents Caregiver Program, which provides support, assistance, respite, and encouragement to help seniors over 55 care for related children for whom they are the primary caregivers. Launch Career Guidance and Assistance offers individuals aged 16-24 transition into adulthood with purpose and direction. They help with GED preparation, employment readiness skills, and workforce training. This is just a sampling of organizations that participated.
It is a great networking opportunity for the community and different agencies to learn about services provided to help support and encourage the community.
